The computer is used for the conduction of high capability calculations. The disk capacity of the C-3820 is exploited in the framework of the information server program. The work of dozens of users is maintained by it.

C-3820 disk capacity can by extended up to 1 Tb. And the quantity of vector and input/output processors in the framework of the following computer can be increased to eight.

C-3820 provides operating system ConvexOS V11.0, program languages compilers C, C++ and FORTRAN, vector mathematical library VECLIB, batch processing system CXBatch, check-out environment adb and Convex Consultant, network tools NFS, Internet Service, text processing instruments sed and awk, editors vi, ed,GNU Emacs, and also graphic system X Window.

Peak performance is 500 Mflops.
