Vector-parallel computer CONVEX C-120

This is the first supercomputing system installed at the CSA territory permitting the simultaneous work of dozens of users. Now C-120 is widely used for teaching new users to work with the operating system UNIX (ConvexOS).

• Physical memory 256 Mb
• Virtual memory 4 Gb
• Hard disks capacity 4.5 Gb
• 9-track tape drive
• Ethernet (10 Mbit per second) interface
• 16-channel multiplexer

Software:

C-120 provides operating system ConvexOS V10.0, compilers of such program languages as C, C++ and FORTRAN, vector mathematical libraries VECLIB, LAPACK and LINPACK, system of the batch processing CXBatch, check-out environment adb and Convex Consultant, network tools NFS, NCS, Internet Service, text processing environment sed and awk, editors vi, ed, GNU Emacs, graphic system X Window, and also the complex of graphic data presentation and processing AVS.

Peak performance is 40 Mflops.
