In the midst of a major comprehensive research university and with its existing equipment and experienced personnel, SCRI supports interdisciplinary and inter-institutional collaborations. SCRI consists of a number of in-house computationally-intensive focus teams of scientists, mathematicians, and computer scientists doing research in application areas which serve as nuclei or vital components for significant collaborations. These focus teams are responsible for maintaining a dialogue with all members of the collaborations regarding facilities, research developments, and technical support at SCRI.
